Quartet back for Boro

Four key players return from injury for Middlesbrough to boost McLaren.

Middlesbrough fans may have had a frustrating time of late, beating Arsenal one minute and losing to Sunderland the next, but at least their injury worries could now be behind them.

Four senior players, Gaizka Mendieta, Szilard Nemeth, Stuart Parnaby and Chris Riggott, return to action for the reserves tonight.

Mendieta has been ruled out since the end of August, when he picked up a calf strain in the home defeat to Charlton, while striker Nemeth has not played since damaging ankle ligaments on the opening day of the season.

Middlesbrough will be particularly pleased to have Riggott available again, who has not played since April and is feeling his way back after knee surgery. Fellow defender Parnaby, who has been out of action since pre-season, is also coming back from a knee injury.

The quartet will hope to come through tonight's game against Wigan at the Riverside unscathed, and bolster Middlesbrough's squad at this critical stage of the season for them.
