Patrick Owomoyela and Mitchell Langerak extend stay

Borussia Dortmund have extended the contracts of former Germany defender Patrick Owomoyela and Australian reserve goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak. The Bundesliga champions said that 32-year-old Owomoyela, who has been at the club since 2008, would stay on until next year, although he only played 11 times last season due to a series of injuries. Meanwhile, Langerak, 23, made two appearances last year, including in the 5-2 German Cup final win against Bayern Munich in Berlin, when he replaced the injured Roman Weidenfeller during the first half. The shot-stopper is now contracted to the Westfalenstadion giants until 2016. Sporting director Michael Zorc said: "Mitch has made continued progress over the last two seasons." Langerak arrived at Dortmund in mid-2010 from Australian side Melbourne Victory to make up for the loss of Weidenfeller's previous stand-in, Marc Ziegler, who left for Stuttgart and has impressed coach Jurgen Klopp.
