Polish full-back signs with Dortmund until 2016

Borussia Dortmund full-back Lukasz Piszczek has agreed a new contract with the club that will see him stay until 2016. The Poland international was almost ever-present in the club's run to the Bundesliga title last season, missing just one game for Jurgen Klopp's exciting side. The 26-year-old will now play a key role in his team's return to the UEFA Champions League for the current season, having joined from Hertha Berlin on a free transfer last summer. Piszczek has won 18 caps for his country, playing much of his football in Germany after joining Hertha in 2004. Sporting director Michael Zorc was delighted with the extension, highlighting Piszczek's ability as one of the finest around. "We are very pleased to extend Lukasz's contract long-term because he is among the best players in his position in the Bundesliga," Zorc told Kicker magazine.
