Veteran keeper agres MLS move

Veteran German goalkeeper Frank Rost has agreed a deal with MLS outfit the New York Red Bulls. The 38-year-old has been snapped up as a free agent after seeing his contract with Hamburg expire at the end of last season. He will add considerable experience to the Red Bulls squad, having made 426 Bundesliga appearances in his career. Those outings came during stints at Schalke, Werder Bremen and Hamburg. Rost has also been capped four times by his country, with his international debut coming against the United States in 2002. "Frank is a very experienced goalkeeper who will provide a strong presence in between the posts for our club during our quest for a MLS title," Erik Soler, the Red Bulls' general manager and sporting director, said in a statement. "We are thrilled that he has decided to join us in the middle of our campaign and look forward to his contributions for the remainder of the season."
