Hamburg have parted company with chairman of the club's management board, Bernd Hoffmann.

Oenning hopes to prove managerial credentials

Hamburg have parted company with chairman of the club's management board, Bernd Hoffmann, four days after the sacking of manager Armin Veh. The club's head of marketing, Katja Kraus, has also left the Imtech Arena by mutual consent. Hoffmann and Kraus had been working with Hamburg since 2003, but the former has said that a progressive working relationship no longer exists. Carl-Edgar Jarchow will provisionally assume the post of full-time executive chairman of Hamburg until a permanent successor is found. Meanwhile, Hamburg caretaker manager Michael Oenning hopes to get the job on a permanent basis after the sacking of Veh, which came after last Saturday's 6-0 hammering at Bayern Munich. Oenning told Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper: "My future as manager will depend on results and achievements. "I need to show the people at Hamburger it is not necessary to appoint a new manager and that it's good to stick with me in charge."
