Midfielder agrees loan move as De Jong replacement

Hamburg have signed Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Marcel Ndjeng on loan until the end of season. The 26-year-old impressed after a 10-day trial and, following Nigel de Jong's switch to Manchester City, boss Martin Jol has moved quickly to secure his services. Ndjeng was an integral member of Monchengladbach's promotion-winning side in 2007/08, but has fallen out of favour with the rock-bottom Bundesliga outfit this term. Jol told Uefa's official website: "I like his style of play, his ability to put in really good crosses which create danger." Meanwhile, Hamburg's Thiago Neves is close to leaving and the midfielder is willing to join another club in order to secure first-team football. Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal have been mentioned as a likely destination and a deal is expected before the winter transfer window closes. Neves told Hamburg Abendblatt: "If Hamburg want me to go, I will leave. The only important thing for me is to be playing."
