Struggling Bundesliga outfit FC Nurnberg have released Slovakian international Samuel Slovak.Nurnberg bosses have decided to terminate the midfielder's contract nine months early after he became surplus to requirements at the Franken Stadion.
Slovak had a trial with English Championship side Leeds United in the summer, but failed to land a deal at Elland Road and is now expected to return to his native country in search of a new club.
Nurnberg are just two points off the bottom of the Bundesliga table, increasing the pressure on coach Wolfgang Wolf.
Wolf has a reputation for tough talking, but has recalled four under performing players ahead of Saturday's tough trip to Werder Bremen.
"Everyone has learned their lesson and are now training the way I expect them too," stressed Wolf.
Slovakian Robert Vittek, Tunisian midfielder Adel Chedli, Russian Under-21 star Ivan Saenko and Maik Wagenfeld were all dropped from the squad for Nurnberg's last game against Cologne because Wolf felt they were not giving their all to the club.
