Germany midfielder signs new two-year contract

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Simon Rolfes has signed a new two-year contract at the BayArena. The Germany international is now tied to the Bundesliga club until 2010. Rolfes, who joined Bayer from Alemannia Aachen in 2005, has played in all nine Bundesliga games for Michael Skibbe's side this season. The 25-year-old's performances last season earned him a call-up to the Germany squad and he made his debut against Denmark in March.
