Juan suffers calf blow

Bayer Leverkusen defender Juan has been ruled out of action for two weeks.

Bayer Leverkusen defender Juan has been ruled out of action for at least two weeks.

The Brazilian international was forced to leave the field prematurely in Wednesday's tumultuous 2-1 derby win over Cologne.

A medical examination revealed the 26-year-old had suffered damaged calf ligaments.

The injury blow will temper the mood of caretaker coach Rudi Voller who has overseen back-to-back victories to move the club up to fifth in Die Bundesliga.

Ahmed Madouni is expected to replace Juan at the heart of defence for the trip to Werder Bremen on Saturday.
