Juve land Salihamidzic

Hasan Salihamidzic will leave Bayern Munich for Juventus in June.

Hasan Salihamidzic has turned down a contract extension at Bayern Munich to join Juventus in June.

The defender has signed a four-year-deal with Juve and is looking forward to the challenge of restoring the club to greatness.

He told daily La Stampa: "It will be a young side that must recover the identity of a big one. I know this.

"With Bayern Munich I won everything and the idea of a place where there is need to rebuild, gives me a big will.

"Even if they are in Serie B I will still go. When I chose to join them I knew which league they were in.

"The club guaranteed me that they will strengthen the squad and that I will be the ideal player to give them experience.

"I won the Champions League in Milan, my career's best memory. When destiny calls, you go."

Juventus chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc has backed Didier Deschamps insisting the coach will still be in charge next season.

Blanc has rubbished reports claiming Deschamps will leave the club at the end of the season even if they win promotion.

Blanc told Sky Italia: "With Deschamps we started a plan in August and, after talking to the board we have decided that this plan will continue next season.

"Deschamps did a really good job in the first part of the season despite facing a lot of injuries. So I am sure he will continue to do a good job in the future."
