'Sportbild' claimed the Bundesliga champions had paid cheques into the bank accounts of transfer targets Sebastian Deisler and Sebastian Kehl of Hertha Berlin and Freiburg respectively.
Deisler has admitted that he will join Bayern in the summer but the destination of Kehl remains uncertain in spite of the claim by Uli Hoeness, the Bayern general manager, that the 21-year-old had agreed to move to the Olympic Stadium.
"We are not the ones who throw cheques at players who are contracted to other clubs," stated BVB sporting director Michael Zorc in the 'Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung'.
"Kehl has said to us quite clearly that he has not given Bayern an oral or written agreement," said general manager Michael Meier.
"If Bayern have something in writing we will step aside.
"The accusation of forcing up the price is unfair. Besides, the transfer fee for Kehl is written in his contract."
Bayern and Dortmund, the superpowers of German football in the 1990s, are the fiercest of rivals and have clashed over players several times before, most recently regarding Tomas Rosicky.
Both parties bid for the Czech starlet with The Schwarz-Gelben proving victorious and capturing the midfielder in a £7.5 million deal.
The European Champions are reportedly considering legal action against Kehl, with a top Bundesliga lawyer investigating the case, which all seems to suggest the Freiburg star has snubbed Bayern in favour of Borussia.
