Aachen on Timm trail

Aachen admit they want 'a pacy striker' amid reports of a move for Christian Timm.

Alemannia Aachen have admitted they are keen to land 'a pacy striker' amid reports the club is set to make a move for Greuther Furth forward Christian Timm.

Aachen need to bring in a replacement after Jan Schlaudraff agreed to move to Bayern Munich in the summer, and director of sport Jorg Schmadtke is now reportedly looking at Timm, who has impressed this season in Bundesliga 2.

"It's no secret that we are looking for a pacy striker," he told the German press when asked about the 28-year-old former Cologne and Kaiserslautern striker.

However, Aachen may have to compete with Bayer Leverkusen and promotion-favourites Karlsruhe if they are to bring the forward to Tivoli.

Meanwhile, reports in the German media have suggested Aachen could also make a move for Werder Bremen starlet Jerome Polenz.

Kicker claims that Aachen scouts have watched the player on several occasions as they look for a replacement for Hannover-bound winger Sergio Pinto.

Polenz, 20, has struggled to break into the Bremen first-team this season after making his Bundesliga debut in 2005/06, and while coach Thomas Schaaf is keen to hold onto the player, he has hinted that he may allow the player to move on loan to gain more experience.
