Klinsmann brings in Neuville

Jurgen Klinsmann has drafted Oliver Neuville into Germany's squad to face the USA.

Jurgen Klinsmann has drafted Oliver Neuville into Germany's squad to face the United States and cursed the injury to Sebastien Deisler.

Neuville has been called into the setup for Wednesday's friendly after Torsten Frings and Mike Hanke withdrew due to injury.

Werder Bremen midfielder Frings suffered a calf injury against Nurnberg, while Wolfsburg striker Hanke bruised his hip against Hamburg.

The withdrawals of Frings and Hanke have prompted Klinsmann to bring Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Neuville into his squad.

The game with the USA forms the latest leg of Germany's preparations for hosting the World Cup later in the year.

But the home assault will go ahead without the contribution of Deisler, who has been ruled out of the tournament with a knee injury.

The Bayern Munich ace missed the last World Cup due to injury and Germany coach Klinsmann lamented the misfortune to befall Deisler.

"We feel extremely sorry for him," said Klinsmann.

"It's a big loss for the team. He would have played an important role in our World Cup plans."
