Brazilian stopper out of custody after suspected arson arrest

Bayern Munich defender Breno has been released from custody on bail following 13 days in detention on suspicion of arson, the Bundesliga club have confirmed. The Brazilian is suspected to have set fire to his house in the Munich suburb of Grunwald on September 20th and was arrested a few days later. Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the 21-year-old has been let out on bail. He told BILD: "We are all extremely happy to have Breno out of investigative custody, allowing him to return to his family as well as Bayern Munich now." A further press release from Bayern read: "The restrictions and requirements connected to this have been complied with by the player and with the help of his lawyer and Bayern Munich as a club. Part of these requirements was to make bail." Breno, who is contracted at Bayern until next June, made only 13 Bundesliga appearances for the German side last season and is yet to feature this term. The centre-back arrived at the Allianz Arena from native club Sao Paulo in 2008 for a reported £10.5million transfer fee.
