Sporting goalkeeper desperate for return to Germany

Former Stuttgart and Germany goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand wants to return to the Bundesliga after an unsuccessful spell at Sporting Lisbon. The 32-year-old moved to Portugal on a free transfer last summer after his contract with Hoffenheim was cancelled with one year remaining. But Hildebrand, who won the Bundesliga with Stuttgart in 2007, is not a first-team regular with Sporting and hopes to find a new club in Germany when his deal expires at the end of the season. He told Kicker: "Looking back at how things have progressed for me in my career, I have to admit I should never have left Stuttgart." Hildebrand added: "I now have an opportunity to have a good future. "I would like to be back in the Bundesliga and I believe I have got a chance to win myself a place in the league in the coming weeks."
