Portugal international Hugo Almeida has no intention of quitting Werder Bremen before the start of the new season.
The 26-year-old was repeatedly linked with Everton in 2009 after admitting that it was his 'dream' to play in England.
Speculation then resurfaced about Almeida after this summer's World Cup, despite Portugal's disappointing campaign, to suggest that Almeida could return to his homeland with Benfica or Sporting.
The striker has only one year left on his contract with Werder to fuel rumours that he may be on the move.
But he said at the start of July that he wants to sign a new deal and he has repeated his commitment, telling
BILD: "I am raring to get a new role in the team.

"I am looking to change a few things ahead of the new season. I am looking forward to scoring lots of goals and I want to help the team achieve success.
"I want to play a key role for Werder. I was able to experience a lot of things when on duty for Portugal at the World Cup, which will also push me forward in usual life. I am convinced I am a stronger player now."
Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs said "Hugo (Almeida) is a player with bags of ability, he can do a lot more.
"We have been unhappy he had not been able to show his qualities week-in week-out.
"If he is showing that sort of improvement in his output, we will be sitting down to discuss a new deal soon."
