Chairman feels there is a chance keeper will sign new contract
Hannover remain hopeful of persuading Germany international goalkeeper Robert Enke to sign a new contract.
Enke has a year left on his current deal and has been tipped to join a bigger Bundesliga club in search of European football.
He was linked with Bayern Munich last season after Hannover suggested they would listen to offers for the 31-year-old due to his contract situation.
However, Hannover chairman Martin Kind is now keen to discuss an extension with Enke and believes there is a chance the keeper could stay with the club.
"I am attempting to get in touch with Robert Enke soon," Kind told Bild.
"He is a fan favourite at our club and we would be really happy to see him stay on.
"To keep him would be a big boost for the club's future. I regard the odds to be even."
Enke's agent Jorg Neblung admits the former Barcelona shot-stopper would be willing to examine the offer of a new contract.
Neblung said: "If the club wants to come up with something, we will not ignore that."
