Frenchman out of crucial Bundesliga fixture

Stuttgart defender Mathieu Delpierre has been ruled out of action for a few weeks with an ankle injury, the club have confirmed. The Frenchman picked up the knock in training on Wednesday and is now set to at least miss his side's clash with Hannover 96 on Saturday. Delpierre has played 15 out of 19 Bundesliga games for Stuttgart this season, reportedly earning attention from Arsenal while also catching the eye of France boss Raymond Domenech. The 27-year-old has yet to play for the full international side but has earned one 'B' cap and has been capped at Under 21 level.
