Serie A round-up

Internazionale's relentless march to the Serie A title shows no sign of abating.

Internazionale's relentless march to the Serie A title shows no sign of abating as they extended their lead at the summit to 20 points ahead of closest rivals Roma.

A 2-0 victory over Parma saw Inter need 56 minutes to break the deadlock, as Maxwell opened the scoring, before Hernan Crespo showed Chelsea just what they are missing with his side's second 20 minutes from time.

Lazio made it seven wins on the trot with a 4-2 success at Udinese.

Guglielmo Stendardo fired Lazio in front on 18 minutes and two goals in a minute from Stefano Mauri (50) and Valon Behrami put Lazio in firm control.

Italian international Antonio Di Natale pulled a goal back for Udinese from the penalty spot just before the hour mark, but Tommaso Rocchi restored Lazio's three-goal cushion just two minutes later when converting from the spot.

Things got worse for Udinese when Gaetano D'Agostino was sent-off for Udinese nine minutes from time.

Vincenzo Iaquinta grabbed a late consolation for Udinese in injury time, but it mattered little to the result.

Cristiano Lucarelli enjoyed a memorable afternoon for Livorno as he proved to be the catalyst for their facile 4-1 home victory over Catania. It was Lucarelli that grabbed his side's leveller in the 20th minute, to cancel out Andrea Sottil's opener, before Stefano Fiore put them into the lead on the stroke of half-time.

With Catania chasing an equaliser, Lucarelli grabbed a late penalty (82), before completing his hat-trick in added time.

Empoli were also big winners as they put Ascoli to the sword by the same scoreline.

Nicola Pozzi (45 & 74) and Luca Saudati (52 & 71) both grabbed a brace, rendering Andrea Soncin's effort mere consolation for a disappointing Ascoli.

Chievo and Sampdoria could not be separated as they drew 1-1, with the home side coming from behind when Matteo Brighi's 33rd minute effort cancelled out Fabio Quagliarella's opener.

Cagliari were too strong for Messina as they raced into a two-goal lead courtesy of Davide Biondini and Alessandro Budel - with no response forthcoming from Messina.

Cristiano Doni's 65th minute penalty saw Atalanta come from two goals down to secure a 2-2 home draw with Fiorentina.

Goals from Ferreira Reginaldo (27) and Giampaolo Pazzini (32) looked to have put Fiorentina in cruise control, only for Simone Loria and Doni to have other ideas.

Torino and Palermo could not be separated in a 0-0 stalemate.
