Reports in Italy have suggested that the Gialloblu would have to cash in on some of their top stars because the club's owners Parmalat are experiencing financial difficulties.
French goalkeeper Sebastien Frey, Brazilian striker Adriano and Daniele Bonera have all attracted the interest of a host of clubs, sparking fears they could be the first ones to depart.
Parma's director general Patrick Nebiolo has moved to play down the claims and insists the club will not be carrying out major sales during the January transfer window.
"I feel that I need to clarify our situation after all that has been written over the last few days," said Nebiolo
"Parma are not a supermarket for other sides. We are already two years into a three-year project that had as its objective financial independence from the Parmalat group.
"We are self sufficient and do not depend on their finances. The only sales that will take place are those that the club have already planned for."
