Two midfield recruits boost manager-less Serie A side

Bologna have completed a double swoop, signing Diego Perez and bringing in Ivan Radovanovic on loan. Perez, a 30-year-old Uruguayan, has signed a four-year deal at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara from French side Monaco. The midfielder was a key part of the Uruguay squad that reached the last four of this summer's World Cup finals in South Africa. His move brings an end to a six-year association with Ligue 1 outfit Monaco, who recruited him in 2004 from Uruguayan outfit Club Atletico Penarol. The move will see the defensive midfielder link up with compatriots Miguel Britos, Henry Gimenez and Gaston Ramirez at the managerless Serie A team. Meanwhile, Radovanovic joins the club on loan from second division outfit Atalanta. The 22-year-old has agreed terms that will see him stay at Bologna for the season, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign. The midfielder has seldom featured for Atalanta following his 2008 move from Serbian side Partizan, spending last season at third tier outfit Pisa. The switch will give the Serbia Under-21 international another chance to prove himself in Italy's top flight.
