Andersson is currently on a season-long loan deal with Chievo from Serie B outfit Venezia.
The 25-year-old has largely been a peripheral figure with The Flying Donkeys and his £3 million price tag has deterred Luigi Del Neri from keeping him at the Serie A high-flyers.
Instead, Andersson has his eyes on a transfer to Palermo, who are chasing promotion to the Italian top-flight.
"I am truly set to leave Chievo and play for Palermo," Andersson told Expressen. "It might be Serie B but Palermo are aiming for promotion to the top-flight.
"The condition to join Chievo on loan was that I changed my club loyalty to Palermo.
"The club (Chievo) say they cannot afford to buy me. I understand that 40 million kronor (£3 million) is a high price tag.
"Something else might pop up during the summer but, at the moment, I am truly set to move to Palermo next season."
Andersson admitted he joined Chievo to secure his spot in Sweden's national set-up but he concedes the move backfired.
He added: "I chose to play for a Serie A club to keep my national team place but it did not help.
"I have now lost my place in the national team so I may just as well play for Palermo in Serie B."
