Sven Goran Eriksson is determined to keep reported Marseille target Sol Bamba at Leicester City.

Foxes boss says there has been no contact from Marseille

Sven Goran Eriksson is determined to keep Sol Bamba at Leicester City after insisting Marseille have not made a bid for the defender. Bamba only joined Leicester from Hibernian during the January transfer window, but impressed in making 18 appearances in the second half of last season. He has been linked with a £2million move to French giants Marseille and the signings of Matt Mills and Sean St Ledger have increased competition for places in the Foxes' squad. Eriksson is aware he does need to trim numbers from his squad before the start of the season, but stressed he does not want to part with Bamba. "I have heard that rumour for weeks but Marseille have not contacted us at all," said Eriksson in the Leicester Mercury. "I don't know what is behind that. We want to keep Bamba, we don't want to sell him. "There are a lot of rumours about players going out, but so far nothing. "The numbers are too big at the moment and we do have to sell some players, but I think all the players want to stay. "The ambition is to get into the Premier League and the players all want to be part of it."
