Chelsea are on the trail of Palermo's Josip Ilicic, according to his agent.

Blues, Liverpool and Spurs keen on Slovenian

Chelsea are on the trail of Palermo's Josip Ilicic, according to his agent. Tottenham and Liverpool are already confirmed admirers of the Slovenian international. The 23-year-old only moved to Italy last summer, but he is already causing a big stir with a series of impressive displays. Now his agent Amir Ruznic says that Chelsea are the keenest of all the English clubs. "Clubs from England are going crazy for him - Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea all want him," he told Sportal. "But Chelsea wants him the most. There is also an interest from Spain, other Italian clubs and Russia, but I doubt that transfer will happen soon. "[Palermo president] Maurizio Zamparini wants him for at least the next two years. He is 70 years old and he doesn't need the money, he just wants to do something big with Palermo. "He wants them to be champions, but who knows what will happen. "Clubs are ready to pay €15millon for Ilicic but that is not enough. If somebody is ready to pay €20, €25 million, than something could happen. "But he won't leave for less than 20 millon euros, that is for sure."

Milan missed out

Ruznic confirmed that AC Milan missed out on signing him before he joined Palermo. "When I started working with Josip, I also offered him to Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri, Zamparini was the only one who showed great interest in him. "He believed even then that this was going to be great business for him and his club, and he was right. "Later I talked with Allegri and he admitted that he made a mistake but of course it was too late. Josip is now a very hot player, many clubs wants him."
