Palermo defender Aimo Diana has been ruled out of Thursday's Uefa Cup clash with Newcastle.The 28-year-old picked up a muscular injury against Fiorentina on Sunday and will not recover in time for the visit of The Magpies on Thursday.
Dian will undergo scans over the next couple of days to determine the full extent of the injury.
Coach Francesco Guidolin will be hoping to have Diana back in action as soon as possible, as he has been a key player this season following his summer move from Sampdoria.
Palermo beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 in their opening Uefa Cup Group H game and are currently second in Serie A.
