Milan defender set to continue for national team

AC Milan defender Marek Jankulovski has announced he will continue playing for Czech Republic's national team. The 31-year-old had been expected to retire from international football in the wake of the Czechs' disappointing Euro 2008 campaign. Jankulovski had said would like to spend more time with his family but after meeting new Czech coach Petr Rada, he has confirmed he will still be available for selection. "He told me he wants to carry on, that he would like to achieve something with the national team," Rada told Denik Sport.

Achievement

"For me and for Czech football, it is great news. It is clear to see how much Marek wants to make an achievement with the national team." Rada will name his squad for the upcoming friendly against England on Monday and admits veteran striker Jan Koller is unlikely to feature.
Koller ruled out
The Czechs' record goalscorer has gone back on his decision to retire from international football but is set to play for his Russian club Samara the weekend before the Wembley friendly. "Of course, it would have been great if he (Koller) could be with us for this game," said Rada. "But just from Vladivostok to Moscow it takes eight hours by air."
