Udinese are closing in on the signing of Argentine striker Mariano Pavone.
Pavone's club Estudiantes de la Plata have accepted an offer in the region of £4million for the player known as 'The Tank'.
Estudiantes coach Diego Simeone recommended Pavone to former club Lazio - but Udinese look set to seal a deal.
Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo has been brokering the move and is accepted to confirm the move in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Udinese have lost midfielder Christian Obodo for the rest of the season.
The Ghanaian has suffered knee ligament damage and has undergone surgery which will see him sidelined for up to six months.
