Paolo Di Canio has caused more controversy after repeating his Roman salute during Saturday's draw with Juventus.The former West Ham and Celtic man provoked outrage last week when he allegedly made a fascist salute when being substituted against Livorno.
Fifa threatened to take action against Di Canio for the gesture, but the skilful forward insists he has done nothing wrong on either occasion.
"I haven't been remotely affected by the controversy and press debate about me over the past week," said Di Canio "I performed well and played my game.
"It's a perfectly normal salute. This is my identity.
"I believe in certain things and express them as a free man. There's nothing shocking or controversial here."
Instead, the former West Ham star claimed it is the political left who are causing all the problems.
Lazio boss Delio Rossi also tried to play down Di Canio's latest incident.
"I do not consider his actions to be racist and, without wanting to justify his gesture, I don't want this club and its fans to be considered political extremists or racists," said Delio Rossi.
Meanwhile, Lazio winger Cesar will be missing until the New Year after picking up an injury in training.
Cesar is expected to be sidelined for up to two weeks with the problem and he will not be back until January.
