Roma coach hopeful City target will sign new deal

Roma coach Luis Enrique is confident Daniele De Rossi will sign a new deal at the club to end speculation over his future. De Rossi's long-term future at the Stadio Olimpico has been the subject of constant speculation for the last few months with his current deal due to expire in the summer. Manchester City have been strongly linked with the Italian international with City chief Roberto Mancini admitting he would like to sign De Rossi. Real Madrid have all also been credited with an interest in De Rossi, but Enrique is not worried about the rumours and is hopeful the midfielder will stay at Roma. "We all know what Roma means for the Romans and that is why I am not worried," said Enrique. "He will stay because this is what he wants. At least, that's what I think... Someone of De Rossi's level should've renewed some time ago, but every day he trains with a smile on his face. Losing him in January is not an option. "There are many players who don't just think about money, but also where they are happy and can do their best work."
