Roma have officially confirmed they are in talks with Antonio Cassano to try to agree a contract extension with the striker after months of deliberation.
His current deal expires in June and the player has failed to commit himself, which has put him out of favour with fans.
But Roma have launched an official statement confirming they are in fresh talks with the player and they also confirmed he has expressed a wish to stay at the club.
It is thought Cassano has been stalling because he wants more money and, despite several clubs expressing an interest in the player over the summer, Roma appear determined to find a way to make him stay.
He will meet with club officials again in the next few days and it is hoped they will finally come to an agreement.
