Frontman settled in Russia after big-money move

Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto'o insists he has no intention of moving back to Inter Milan despite speculation linking him with his former club. Recent reports in the Italian media suggested the 30-year-old could make a return to the San Siro on loan during the Russian league's winter break. However the Cameroon international, who left the Serie A giants last summer in a £23.5million transfer deal, is adamant a move back is not imminent. "Inter was a splendid time in my career," Eto'o told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Inter will remain in my heart, there is no doubt about that. But that is in the past. "I am enjoying myself at Anzhi Makhachkala and football is taking big steps here." Eto'o signed a three-year deal with Anzhi this summer and is among the world's highest paid players, earning a reported £17.9m after tax per season.

Money

"The quality of life in Moscow is very good," he continued. "I am always reminded of my wages but I want to reiterate that I didn't join Anzhi for money. "I earned well at Inter and also at Barcelona and I had salaries that I could certainly not complain about. "This new experience in my career is probably a great business deal but it's also a very interesting one. "I am happy with the idea of being at the centre of a project. "I am going through a unique and fascinating adventure and I'm exploring a new frontier."
