Serbia handed three points to Ghana. Could Germany give them a hand getting home?

Matt Bright tries to take some positives from the Ghana defeat

OK, not the start we all wanted, but it's only one game and with Germany flying the chances of finishing second are still there. So we lost 1-0 and with Germany looking good it doesn't look good for the White Eagles, but stranger things have happened. Let's look back at the game. We did play well, and had a great chance to break the deadlock from a cracking shot by Milos Krasic in the final 10 minutes when the Ghana keeper pulled off a great save. And also Aleksandar Kolarov's left-footed free kick only narrowly missed the goal, but it was not all good with Aleksandar Lukovic seeing red in the 76th minute, meaning not only we played the last 24 minutes with 10 men, he will also miss his for the Germany game. This brings me to the goal, a silly penalty. There was no reason for Zdravko Kuzmanovic to leave his hand in the air, it didn't look deliberate but I'm saddened to say it was a penalty and a good finish from the spot. But such a shame to lose it in the last five minutes. So, there were positives to take from the game, showing that we do have the potential to score and play good football, but if anyone watched how Germany played it doesn't bode well for us, and our game against Germany on Friday could be the end of the tournament. But if we see an Australian win then we can go to our last game against the Aussies with the chance of a big win could take us through - a long shot I know, but you always have to dream... Come on you White Eagles!
