Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has dismissed speculation that defender Marco Materazzi may have left the club during the transfer window.
The Italian international was believed to be looking for a move away from the Nerazzurri during the January transfer window in order to secure a place in the Italy squad for the World Cup finals.
Neighbours Milan and Fiorentina were linked with Materazzi, but Moratti has played down any suggestions that they would have allowed the player to leave.
Moratti told Inter television: "The rumours about Materazzi's departure are absolutely groundless."
Former Everton player Materazzi has struggled to get into the Internazionale team of late, falling behind Ivan Cordoba and Walter Samuel in the pecking order.
