Gala target five signings

Galatasaray have revealed they are looking to buy five new foreign players in the summer.

The Turkish giants have endured a disappointing campaign this term which will see them fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Gala vice-president Ergun Gursoy admitted they will be replacing the current five foreigners at the club after failing to be impressed by their impact this season.

"Five of our foreign players haven't performed up to standard this season. We will replace them all," said Gursoy.

Gursoy admitted the club are interested in bringing back former star Fatih Akyel from arch-rivals Fenerbahce. Fatih is not wanted by many people in the club (Fenerbahce). He has made mistakes in the past, he did things that upset Fenerbahce when we had him, but they bought him," added Gursoy.

"I would personally like to see him back. We have made an offer and we will wait and see."

Internazionale's Turkish duo Okan Buruk and Emre Belozoglu have also been linked with Gala and although Gursoy would like to resign the pair he believes it may prove difficut.

"They're both players that we'd like to have back though. I don't know what time will bring," concluded Gursoy.
