Real win El Clasico; Borussia Dortmund retain Bundesliga crown

Real Madrid stunned Barcelona in El Clasico to close in on the Primera Liga title, while Borussia Dortmund retained their Bundesliga crown. Football resumed in Italy and Juventus won to open up a three-point gap at the top of Serie A, while top two Montpellier and Paris St Germain both notched victories in their race for the French title. Ajax beat Groningen to sit six points clear in the Eredivisie and Scottish champions Celtic triumphed over Motherwell.
Primera Liga
Cristiano Ronaldo notched the winner - his 54th goal of the season - as Real Madrid won 2-1 at Barcelona to open up a seven-point lead at the top of La Liga with just four games left. Valencia moved four points clear in third place, for 24 hours at least, following an empatic 4-0 victory over nine-man Real Betis at the Mestalla on Sunday. Elsewhere, Victor Casadesus' first-half goal sealed a 1-0 victory for Real Mallorca against Real Zaragoza and Sporting Gijon defeated nine-man Rayo Vallecano.
Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund retained their Bundesliga crown after a 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach. The title race was still alive when the defending champions kicked off, after Bayern Munich netted a last-gasp winner at Werder Bremen to keep their faint hopes alive earlier in the day. But goals in either half from Ivan Perisic and Shinji Kagawa sealed the title victory. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's strike salvaged third-placed Schalke a 1-1 draw with struggling Augsburg.
Serie A
Juventus moved three points clear at the top of Serie A with a 4-0 win over 10-man Roma. Arturo Vidal notched an early quick-fire brace, before Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg was controversially sent off for bringing down Claudio Marchisio for a penalty. Substitute goalkeeper Gianluca Curci saved Andrea Pirlo's spot-kick only to see the midfielder score from the rebound before Marchisio wrapped up the win with a clinical low shot. Second-placed AC Milan dropped two points in the defence of their title, while third-placed Lazio were also held on home soil. Fourth-placed Udinese - playing for the first time since the death of their midfielder Piermario Morosini, who had been out on loan at Livorno - were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at Chievo.
Ligue 1
Souleymane Camara's goal helped Ligue1 leaders Montpellier to a narrow victory over Valenciennes. Paris St Germain remain two points behind in second after a thumping 6-1 win over struggling Sochaux. Champions Lille kept themselves in the title race with a vital 2-0 away win at Dijon.
Eredivisie
Ajax beat Groningen 2-0 to re-establish a six-point lead at the top with only three games left to play. Derk Boerrigter and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson were the goal heroes to leave Ajax on the brink of securing the title. AZ Alkmaar, Feyenoord and PSV also won on Sunday to keep up the pressure, while Twente kept their faint title hopes alive on Saturday after substitute Nacer Chadli grabbed a late winner at Excelsior Rotterdam.
SPL
Teenage striker Tony Watt enjoyed a dream debut as he scored twice in three second-half minutes to help SPL champions Celtic earn a 3-0 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday. The day before, Old Firm rivals Rangers proved too hot for Hearts at Tynecastle with a Sone Aluko opener and an Andy Little double.
Best of the rest
Porto remained four points clear at the summit of the Portuguese Liga with a 3-0 win over Beira Mar, while second-placed Benfica thumped Maritimo 4-1. Greek champions Olympiakos triumphed 2-0 at high-flying Atromitos.
