Juventus have stressed that Carlos Tevez is not for sale and they expect the Argentina striker to honour his contract with the club.

Reports in Italy claimed Tevez was looking to leave the Turin giants this summer to return to Argentina despite having one year left on his contract with Juve.

"I know that in his career he has moved a lot and that he is nostalgic about his country," Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta told the Italian press.

"However, there are no premises for interrupting his contract which expires in 2016."

The former Manchester United, Manchester City and West Ham striker is in his second season at Juve.

Tevez, 31, has proved pivotal in helping the club clinch their fourth straight scudetto, scoring 20 league goals this season to lead the Serie A scoring charts.

"He has done reallly well," added Marotta. "He has scored almost 40 goals in 57 appearances and at Juve we have been able to enjoy his extraordinary performances."

Massimiliano Allegri’s side were crowned Italian champions on Saturday after a 1-0 victory at Sampdoria and are still on course to win a treble.

The Turin giants take on Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League and will face Lazio in the Coppa Italia final next month.
