Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella is set to sign a contract extension which will see him commit to the club until 2017, co-owner Andrea Della Valle has confirmed.

The Italian manager, who had spells at Roma and Fulham during his playing career, guided the Viola to fourth place in Serie A last season to earn another three years in the hot seat.

Speaking at the official unveiling of the squad for the 2013/14 season, Della Valle said: "Montella will stay with us for many years. We have found an agreement for his contract extension.

"Good luck to him and to everyone."

Montella then added: "It was only a formality. We agreed about everything.

"We have to put aside what we have done last season. This year there are other expectations, other things."
