Napoli are close to completing an agreement for Santos' Brazil international goalkeeper Rafael, according to his agent.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a switch to Europe for some time, having established himself in the Brazilian domestic game.
At the age of just 23, he has already made well over 100 senior appearances for Santos and earned three caps for his country.
It would appear as though he is now set to take on a new challenge in Italy, with Napoli ready to welcome him into their ranks.
Roma had also been in the running to land the Samba shot-stopper, but they will be forced to turn their attention elsewhere.
Rafael's representative, Paulo Alfonso, told Lancenet: "The negotiation for the sale of my client to Napoli is going really well. Talks should be closed soon.
"Rafael is looking forward to going to Napoli. A meeting with Rafael Benitez has been decisive."
