Inter Milan have been linked with a move for Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli as the pressure surrounding Andrea Stramaccioni intensifies.

FIGC president knows nothing about rumours

Inter Milan have been linked with a move for Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli as the pressure surrounding Nerazzurri interim coach Andrea Stramaccioni intensifies. Club president Massimo Moratti remains undecided as to whether to extend the former Primavera boss' contract despite the 36-year-old overseeing a mini-reversal in the club's fortune on the pitch. Stramaccioni is expected to get the full-time job at the San Siro, but only if he overhauls Lazio and finishes in third place in Serie A, which would secure the remaining Champions League spot. "Well, that's one way to look at it," the Inter president said. "It's certainly always good to have targets because there is then a motivation to always do better." Prandelli has a contract with the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) until 2014 and much is expected to depend on whether the former Fiorentina coach remains at the helm after Euro 2012. And FIGC president Giancarlo Abete has played down the speculation linking the Azzurri coach with a possible move to Inter. "These are rumours," he said. "I don't know, I read papers, but I know nothing about these rumours. "It makes no sense talking about this because Prandelli is bound to the national team for four more years."
