AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani insists there is no chance of Gennaro Gattuso leaving the club.
Reports have suggested that the experienced midfielder is a target for ambitious Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala.
At 33 years of age, and with Milan looking towards the future, it was understood that they were willing to discuss a deal.
Galliani, though, has rubbished such rumours, with Gattuso still having 12 months left to run on his current contract at Giuseppe Meazza.
He is adamant that the former Italy international is going nowhere, with Milan of the opinion that he still has plenty to offer.
Commitment
"Rino Gattuso has a contract with Milan until 30th June 2012 and neither the club nor the player is considering not respecting this agreement," Galliani told the club's
official website.
"We'll continue together next season as well, we with Gattuso and Gattuso with us. I wanted to make this clear once again to all, especially to our fans."
While Galliani has been quick to distance Gattuso from the rumours, his agent has confirmed that there is interest from Russia.
"For now Rino will remain at AC Milan," Andrea D'Amico told
Sky Sport Italia.
"But I can confirm that a meeting was held with Suleiman Kerimov, the president of Anzhi Makhachkala."
