Veteran forward backs youngster in his absence

Injured striker Filippo Inzaghi believes Alberto Paloschi is the man to fill the gap in his absence this season. Veteran Inzaghi, 37, is out for the remainder of the campaign after undergoing knee surgery, and the experienced frontman has backed Paloschi to prove his worth. The 20-year-old Rossoneri forward is co-owned by Parma and is enjoying a successful spell at Milan's Serie A rivals. Inzaghi believes he can step up to the plate, although the youngster has just recovered from a knock. He told Sky Italia: "My replacement this year? If I have to be replaced then I would say Paloschi is the best, even though he has just recovered from injury." On his own injury setback, he added: "I am sad because the injury happened when things were going so well for me. "When I return from my operation I will recover at Milanello. The team has good margins to do well."
