Chievo boss Domenico Di Carlo will be without the services of injured midfielder Luca Rigoni for around two months.
Rigoni has performed a key role in shielding the defence for Chievo so far this season, but he now faces a spell on the sidelines with a right thigh strain.
With Rigoni expected to be out of action until December, Di Carlo is likely to switch Michele Marcolini into a deeper role.
"From now on Chievo will have less protection in front of the defence, but more quality when starting moves," Di Carlo explained.
A five-match unbeaten run has helped Chievo climb to sixth in the Serie A table.
