Striker fractures leg on Olympic duty

Lazio striker Tommaso Rocchi is facing six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a fractured leg while representing Italy at the Olympic Games. The news will come as a blow to Lazio as they prepare for the beginning of the new Serie A season on 31st August. Rocchi underwent a medical examination on Monday and he will have another check-up at the beginning of September when his progress will be assessed. The forward, who had scored one goal in two appearances at this summer's Olympics, joined Lazio in 2004 after leaving Empoli. Rocchi has since gone on to make 144 appearances for Lazio and has scored 59 appearances in that time.
