Napoli striker Marcelo Zalayeta will miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury.
Zalayeta damaged his cruciate ligament during Napoli's 2-0 defeat at home to title-chasing Roma at the weekend.
The Uruguayan was hurt after colliding with Roma defender Philippe Mexes and was stretchered from the pitch.
Scans have subsequently shown that Zalayeta will be sidelined for several months due to the severity of the injury.
The 29-year-old had scored eight goals in 22 Serie A appearances after joining Napoli from Juventus last summer.
