Palermo defender Ciro Capuano could face surgery on an injured shoulder.

Injury could force Capuano out for three months

Palermo defender Ciro Capuano could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an injury to his right shoulder. The Italian defender was injured in a challenge during Sunday's Serie A encounter with Livorno and had scans on Tuesday. The club's doctors are yet to decide what option to take for his rehabilitation, but the defender could yet face surgery which would keep him out for three months. Capuano had played in both Serie A games this season for Palermo and the club are hopeful he can recover without an operation.
