Cristiano Lucarelli has left Livorno to join Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.The veteran striker has signed a three-year deal with Shakhtar after they agreed on a transfer with Livorno worth ‚é¼8million.
Lucarelli will earn ‚é¼4million a season in Ukraine and leaves the Tuscan side despite being contracted to them until 2010.
Last summer Shakhtar had tried to buy the player and even reached an agreement with Livorno, but at the last moment the forward decided he wanted to stay in Italy.
