The former Atletico Madrid star is now set to join Villarreal on a season-long deal.
Milan have again allowed Jose Mari and Fabrico Coloccini to leave Giuesspe Meazza on loan, and the pair look to set join the same club once again - after they were at Atletico together last term.
Coloccini has already sealed his loan deal and now Jose Mari looks set to follow suit, after agreeing terms.
Villarreal are expected to officially unveil both players early next week.
