Parma eye triple Liga raid

Parma will look to pull off a triple swoop on La Liga if Lorenzo Sanz takes control.

Parma will look to pull off a triple swoop on La Liga if Lorenzo Sanz takes control of the Italian outfit.

Former Real Madrid supremo Sanz is bidding to complete his takeover before Tuesday's transfer deadline and will then try to bring in three Spaniards to bolster Parma's struggling squad.

His interest in Getafe's sought-after striker Riki is well-known, but he also wants to try and secure the services of Deportivo La Coruna duo Cesar and Ruben Castro.

Cesar, a central defender, is a target for Bolton but looks increasingly likely to stay at Depor until the end of the season when his contract expires.

Ruben (pictured) is a pacey centre forward, and his agent Jose Antonio Martin Peton insists he is a long-term target for the Italians and will seriously consider a move to Serie A if a deal can be agreed.

"Ruben is the first footballer that Parma set their sights on, even before Riki," Martin Peton told AS.

"For them he is the ideal complement to play up front with (Bernardo) Corradi - they have thought that for a long time.

"Parma want a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy.

"There are possibilities he could go, but we still have to speak to (Depor president, Augusto Cesar) Lendoiro. But they (Parma) want him, and in this window.

"Ruben is prepared to leave. Despite the situation they find themselves in, Parma are one of Italy's big teams and he would have more chance to play there than at Deportivo."
