Dutch full-back has his mind set on joining Valencia
Gregory van der Wiel's agent is hoping Ajax can quickly agree a deal with Valencia regarding the full-back's proposed transfer at the end of the season.
Valencia appear to have won the chase to sign the Netherlands international, who has previously been linked with Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester City.
Van der Wiel recently revealed he has agreed a five-year contract with Valencia and is hoping to join the Spanish side in the summer.
However, the two sides have yet to agree a transfer fee with Ajax reportedly holding out for €12million (£9.9m) and Valencia offering €10m (£8.4m).
The 23-year-old's representative, Hakim Slimani, is hoping Ajax are not trying to encourage other clubs to make a bid as Van der Wiel has his mind set on moving to the Mestalla.
"Maybe Ajax are hoping that another club will make an offer, but Gregory has already made his decision, and wants to join Valencia," Slimani told Voetbal International.
"It would be good if this can be finalised shortly, so Gregory can focus on Ajax again."
