Vicente sweats on injury

Valencia winger Vicente admits his ankle injury is giving him major cause for concern.

Valencia winger Vicente looks set to turn to Belgian specialist Marc Martens in a bid to overcome his persistent ankle injury, but admits the problem is a major worry.

The Spain international has been sidelined since September after originally damaging his left ankle in a UEFA Champions League game against Werder Bremen.

Despite several different recuperation programmes, the left-sided star has failed to shake off the complaint and is now ready to see Martens who has helped players such as Filippo Inzaghi in the past.

Valencia have given the 23-year-old their support to see Martens as they bid to restore him to full fitness.

Vicente expressed his concern at his ongoing injury problems, stating: "The situation is complicated and I am worried. I just want to be able to play at peak fitness."
